About our school

Murwillumbah Primary School community recognises the need for change as well as maintaining the strong traditions and values that have developed since the founding of the school in 1873.

The school is committed to quality participation and quality outcomes through continuous improvement. The school, in partnership with parents and the community, aims to continue the process of education already begun before children enter school.

Each member of the school's community is encouraged to contribute to the development of a school climate where the value of working co-operatively is fostered. Students are helped to refine their social skills and to facilitate effective relationships so that conflicts can be resolved in an atmosphere of mutual respect.

Students are given increasing levels of responsibility as they mature helping them to accept the consequences of their decisions and actions. This is nurtured by an experienced teaching staff and a supportive and co-operative parent community.
