21st Century Learning

Students at Murwillumbah Public School are enjoying state of the art 21st Century Learning Classrooms and future focused learning spaces.

Our stage three classrooms have been transformed into ultra-modern teaching and learning spaces, complete with brand new furnishings that allow for flexible seating arrangement and full class sets of laptops for student use. These classrooms are designed around current research about best teaching and learning practices for students in today's world and we are proud to be leading the way in this area. as one of only a very small number of Public School's in the state that provide this level of technology.

Students benefit from the added support and resources that the use of individual computers allows. This is in addition to traditional teaching methods and resources. Already we have seen a significant increase in student learning and engagement as a result of this opportunity.

All students across the school are also enjoying a refurbished Library and Computer room as well as specialised classes which integrate the use of technology into research tasks in the Library. The goal of providing quality computer facilities at MPS is to promote educational excellence in teaching and learning programs whilst developing essential skills in ICT for the future.

Students also have regular access to educational apps and internet browsing using our class set of ipads. Students use the ipads in computer classes as well as within their own classrooms to enhance learning in reading groups, maths activities and research projects.

The Department of Education and Communities aims to make technology a lead priority for teaching and learning programs in NSW public schools. Many innovative and varied programs have been implemented to expand the use of technology in teaching across the curriculum.
