Murwillumbah Public School is proud to announce a wonderful new 21st Century Learning initiative that we will implement in 2016 involving all of our year 6 children and a number of our year 5 children. Both 5/6 classes will use the latest technology to meet curriculum outcomes whilst engaging in collaborative online learning.
We are very excited about this initiative. Our school will be the only school in the Far North Coast Area and one of very few schools in the Whole State that will have this type of learning in place. This program positions Murwillumbah Public School on it's trajectory as a leader in 21st Century education.
It includes using technology to support learning, with teachers and students being focused on capturing new and innovative ideas and engaging in challenging and interesting learning situations. It will no doubt, create a productive, motivational and positive learning culture linked to the school well-being policy. All students will have their own laptop computer to use in class. Computers will be supplied by the school, free of cost. Explicit teaching will occur as usual, with the added use of this technology.
Both classes will be designed around the latest research in collaborative learning environments which will include brand new furniture and a new look classroom. All year 6 children will be automatically included. Interested year 5 children will need to complete an expression of interest note that will be send home with each individual student.
For more information about this wonderful learning opportunity please contact the school to make an appointment with your child's teacher, or our Principal, Mr Les Daley.
